Trying to choose a color???

Greetings All -
I'm debating what color to paint my newly acquired 68-C Cabriolet, and have thought more seriously about either solid black with Apple Green stripe and wheels, or Ford Maroon with Tacoma Cream stripe and wheels (I know that this was not an original color combination). I would be most grateful for pictures of any Cabriolets with these colors, or for that matter, other possible color combinations as well, since I am still not completely committed at this point. Similarly, if anyone might be able to point me to any other sites that might feature cars and colors, I would appreciate this type of guidance as well. Any and all help along these lines is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Whatever you decide I would make it one of the original color combinations per the judging standards. I passed on a beautiful sedan because it was the "wrong" color and it would be a couple off thousand dollars to change it.

Thanks Charlie for your input. I agree for the most part with your recommendations, but I also don't want to "see myself coming" by having one of the more commonly used color schemes. My understanding is that the 68C was offered in both solid black with Apple Green stripe, (and) also in a solid Ford Maroon (but with black reveals and an Aurora Red stripe instead of Tacoma cream), as well as Moleskin Brown and Lombard Blue (all solid colors pretty much), and then a series of two-tone combinations. I'm hoping to see pictures of completed cars in original color combinations so that I might see color examples to help me decide. Thanks for your thoughts and input. Warmest regards -

Dick

My Dad restored this 29 Cabriolet in 65.The car was originally bought by a guy who worked on the assembly line in Detroit. My Dad was a stickler for original but I can't find any reference of Maroon or colored wheels for this car for 1929 so I'm thinking the guy on the assembly line ordered it the way he wanted or my Dad deviated a bit.He did meet the original owner after the car was restored but not sure if he spoke to him prior to restoration.I also included a couple of photos after my Dad purchased this car in 1962 from the second owner.Fairly rough shape but running.also a photo of the radiator eagle cap that has the head flip down to allow the wings to tip back.apparently this was an accessory back in the day but many got broken.I don't know why this isn't being reproduced . I think it sets off the car quite nicely.

Re: Trying to choose a color???

Thanks once again to everyone who so kindly responded with pictures and recommendations. I think that I have decided to go solid black with Apple Green wheels and stripe. This car is very straight and solid, so I think that it should be able to handle black without much trouble. After reviewing the Judging Standards, I have briefly considered a leather interior since I think that it might wear better than a Bedford Cord - especially when left unattended with the top down, but I also don't think that it would be nearly as attractive in this instance either ... so my thinking is to go back with a Bedford Cord interior. Again, thank you all for your thoughts and recommendations.
