wrong / worn axle shims 1 Attachment(s)
Guten Abend!
About 3500 ml / <2 years ago I revised all the brakes. Since the rear brake drums were too loose on the axle cone, I used the thin spicer / cone / axle shim. Today I installed new brake shoes because the old ones were still thick, but led to extreme fading because overharding, I think. I noticed that the mounted spicers were crushed and crumbly. Did I do something wrong with the assembly back then? |

Re: wrong / worn axle shims I doubt that you did anything wrong, stuff just happens. Many axles and hubs have been damaged over the years. I try to smooth the axle with a file, can't do much with the hub.

Re: wrong / worn axle shims The best use of axle shims is to quickly move a used car off the lot before the 30 foot warranty expires.
