48 woody question

I have been doing the body And paint work on a good friend 1948 Ford woody. he had took the car apart. the wood is finished the top material is installed, the drip rails are painted, now it is time to install the drip rails. the question is. the drip rails are nail to the wood all along the top when it come to the cowl or windshield post how is it fastened, twist nails or screws ?
thanks for any help I can get.

Re: 48 woody question

On my 40, I used very small diameter square drive screws everywhere except across the back above the window where the hide-em goes. The heads were small enough that they fit in where the rubber covers and hides them. That way if you ever need to remove the rain gutters for a new top or to fix something, it doesn't destroy the rain gutters. Also on the metal of the cowl, a screw can draw it up tight without pounding on it.
