rear end/ spring

The Les Andrews book page 1 97 paragraph 5a; It says "Attach the right spring shackle first" Does anyone know why?? I think I did this step backward. Any thoughts? Jack

Methinks that it shouldn't matter which shackle is connected first.

It doesn't make any difference. Often guys don't disconnect the right side, so can pull the innards out the left and leave the rest in the car. More trouble than it's worth IMO.

I don't know why that is in the book, doesn't make much or any sense, maybe Les was right handed, or, maybe he was left handed. Hmm, still wouldn't seem to make a difference would it.

About the only time I can see doing that to be an advantage is to replace a broken axle. Otherwise, I agree.

Really makes no difference, but you have to give some people a place to start, so why not just say Right.
