What to do with extra parts?

After obtaining 5 49-53 blocks I finally go a good one. Along the way I've accumulated parts I do not need or want laying around. Are any of these worth trying to sell, give away or just scrap? They are all stock, unaltered, except for the one crankshaft. Thank you for your assistance.

1 generator
2 sets of heads, 1 8RT, 1 8BA
2 intake manifolds
2 fans, 1 truck, 1 car
1 oil pan, no sump(middle)
1 oil pan, with sump(rear)
1 flywheel
1 flex plate
2 oil filter canisters
3 cams
2 sets of valves
2 sets of lifters
2 sets of valve guides
1 Ford crankshaft
1 Ford crankshaft .010/.010
2 sets of rods and piston

I'm sure someone will be interested in these items. Perhaps if you display your area somebody local in your area could be interested.

Keep a backup 1 deep to what you have. Everything else is really space. Stock heads and intakes have been replaced by aftermarket stuff. But if your giving it out someone has a barn to fill so you don't have to hoard.

You have a few things that some will like. Gens, pans, and flywheels are an obvious sell... too me any way. Good luck!

This is what I'm doing with mine. Headed to scrap yard. Spent all afternoon loading it up and still not finished. Can hardly tell anything is missing. Stuff I'll never use just trying to clean up shop. Still got about 5 8ba blocks I have no use for but couldn't bring myself to scrap them.

So you don't think anyone would like the blocks at scrap price, or are they junk? I know scrap is higher now. Just curious? If you were close I'd give ya 10$ over scrap. haha... no really.

That's why I chose not to scrap them. Figured someone down the road could use them. Personally I like the 59A and earlier blocks for my use.

Junk blocks are good for mockup.

Full fendered you didn't say what part of the country you are from, if you were close I'd take a head to hang on my wall.

Re: What to do with extra parts?

How many times have I come across someone needing a part I tossed? But, it's like watching American Pickers where the guy with three buildings full of "stuff" wants to get rid of some and then says "I want to keep that " when someone offers to buy.
Yep, we got a disease. I am trying to find a nursing home with a storage shed.
If you throw or give it away, it's gone.
If you scrap it, it's gone but you got some cash.
Selling it is a lot of work unless you don't have a HOA (or a wife) then you can park your trailer in your front yard with a for sale sign on it. Then convert it to a planter later.
If you give it to a " Ford Barner"it's gone and you can wait to see their post in a few years where they are wondering what to do with it.
Let us know what your therapist advises, we all have the same sickness to some degree. Chap

Save the small OEM stuff that folks often need, like nuts, bolts and washers, fittings and other items that are easy to move.

I’ve got a 10x20 portable shed full of extra flathead parts. And I let it be known to every car buff I see. Once in a while I will get a call “hey you the guy with all the flathead parts?”, and I’ll get rid of something.
Problem is the supply seems to always be greater than the demand!

...or the person who need a crank or head (heavy items) lives clear across the country... not many people willing to pay $30 for a crank and pay $75 to ship it.

I scrapped the worst block I had, cracked every which way, and got about $6 for it. Until I get desperate for space, I'll hang onto the rest.

What are the three cams? An "8cm" or an "eac" are the good ones, don't take much space.

What to do with extra parts? Hoard them of course. Hoard them & when you find the right person, give the stuff you don't think you'll never need to people who're starting out with nothing but some rust & an oil stain on the floor.

Finally got some of my parts stash organized. I had to make room to put the woody inside(translation; more parts) :)

Fullfendered, where are you located? My flathead hoard (V8 anyway) only started a year and a half ago and I'm moving to a place with a 1200 sq ft shop!
