I was on the pit crew when she qualified at 150 mph at Bonneville in ‘13 along with another barner, my buddy Chuck, in BillyO’s 32 Ford roadster. Nicest person you would want to meet - no tv snob I can tell you that. She told Chuck and I she wanted to be the fastest woman ever nn4 wheels. She certainly did that.

Very sad to see a beautiful, skillful, talented, adventurous young lady die. She was a role model for girls. May she rest in peace.

Sad, used to enjoy watching her on trucks and something else. She would get the work done while the guys messed around.

Being from the Dakotas, she definitely had the pioneering spirit that went along for the ride. She joins a list of a lot of other who pushed the envelope and didn't make it. She will still be a role model for young girls. We know growing up that not everyone makes it to the top but we don't let that stop us from trying. I see more and more women in the automotive and aviation maintenance fields all the time and I'm glad to see it. Bring them on and teach them all you can. Some of them will make it to the top and survive to talk about it. She will NOT be forgotten.

One consolation, although a sad one, is that she left this world as the fastest woman on earth.

She was the fastest on wheels. Women have gone a lot faster in air and space craft. Jet powered land speed runners are barely on the earth during a run. Keeping those wheels on the ground is tricky at high speed. No one is saying what happened but controllability of an F104 was a lot easier when they had wings. Lake bed conditions would have a large effect as well. She got the chance to take another run at it and she took it. Opportunities don't grow on trees so I wouldn't blame her for that. She went out doing what she wanted to do. None of us are going to make it out of this adventure we are on alive.

Knew her.
Spoke with her last at the SEMA show over in the Warn booth, prior to an autograph session. We were discussing my grand-daughter's adventures in acting & doing commercials.
Jessi will definitely be missed. Not just a talented automotive professional but very down to earth.
