Re: mice prevention? I put moth balls in trays on the floor of my car. Outside the car I trap and put bait, diligence is the keyword here. Dryer sheets don’t seem to work for me.

Re: mice prevention? The title of this thread says it all. You don't want them little critters to even get a start. I do not bring anything edible into my shop - period. No sandwiches, no chips, no nuthin'. Also, if I do bring a beer or soft drink, I make sure I take the empty container when I leave. So far it's been 15 years with no problems. If there's no reason for them to be there, they won't come.
For those people who keep their dog food supply in the corner of their shop, well, they should get used to the problem. Mice baits, traps, and such other things cause other problems, not the least of which is the little bastards crawling off to some nook or cranny and dying there. |
Re: mice prevention? To reduce the mothball odor in spring, I put some (8) mothballs in a zip-lock bag.
Then I put it on the passenger side floorboard . Dryer sheet or two helps, also . -F F |

Re: mice prevention? I will agree with "51 MERC". I had an old house with a mouse problem once, and the best solution turned out to be a cat. I tried traps and all kinds of different baits, but the cat worked best.

Re: mice prevention? Yes - There's not even a single popcorn in the garage.
20 yrs back I bought a '68 Mustang coupe from Oregon. Car was perfect . . . . . except for mouse pee & STINK in the headliner. (hmmm. Why didn't the owner tell me. |
Re: mice prevention? When I had my camp trailer and Model A I used lots of fabric dryer sheets, scented. NO mice.

Re: mice prevention? Up here in Minnesota, where the winters are cold and long, the mice make nests out of dryer sheets and eat the Irish Spring soap for lunch.

Re: mice prevention? Prevention is key. Repair/replace all your vent screens, plug all your knot holes and around water pipes entering from outside with steel wool. Weather seal the bottom of entry doors. Any tiny space you can get a finger into, a mouse can easily fit through. Deny them entry and you won't have to deal with them at all.
