Re: Gas peddle & footrest escutcheon 's I am just sort of a regular guy and new to Model A's. What is an Escutcheon,
if all else fails I can use the word at our next Club meeting. Gerry, Birch Bay Wa |
Re: Gas peddle & footrest escutcheon 's Escutcheon is a fancy word for the trim piece that goes around things like the window crank handle, etc...

Re: Gas peddle & footrest escutcheon 's I thought the gas pedal had a rubber seal nailed to the floor board with 3 tacks? What dose the escutcheon look like? Or are you talking about the foot rest base?

Re: Gas peddle & footrest escutcheon 's 1 Attachment(s)
Actually Both Ed. The one on the left is the accelerator floorboard cap that covers the rubber grommet and the one in the middle is the footrest mount. Sorry I wasn't too clear on my question. The one on the right is what I found in a box of parts that came with the car. Earlier foot mount as I understand (?).

Re: Gas peddle & footrest escutcheon 's Rusty,
The foot rest base plate flat side points to the accelerator pedal, or to the left side. according to Section 11-8 Judging standards revision 2016. Edited to add that the middle one you pictured is correct based on my mid-1930 but with flat side to the left. There is also a thin rubber washer that tacks for the actual accelerator pedal as mentioned above. |
Re: Gas peddle & footrest escutcheon 's The foot rest base on the right with four screw holes is for the early Model a's

Re: Gas peddle & footrest escutcheon 's Thanks Kimeccles. Guess it's time to get some updates on my 1989 Judging Standards. My section 11 only goes to '6'. lol
