Spoke wheels for my '37 tudor I've got a '37 tudor and want to install some 16" Ford spoke wheels to the car. Since the original wheels and hubs are not compatible with the spoke wheels I need to know what I need to do to adapt the spoke wheels. I'm thinking I need to change the hubs to accommodate the spokes but don't know which hubs to use or what other parts I need to change out. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, |
Re: Spoke wheels for my '37 tudor Has your '37 been converted to hydraulic brakes?

Re: Spoke wheels for my '37 tudor Later hubs, drums will work, but you will have to put spacer plates on them for the spoked Wheels to fit properly.
When I say later I mean 1940 to 1948 |
Re: Spoke wheels for my '37 tudor Here is a link to show the spacer plates Ralph was describing and the reason you need them. All of the wire wheels when run on the later hydraulic drums need them. Don't leave home without them or eventually the wheels will develop cracks at the bolt holes. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...=1#post1286293

Re: Spoke wheels for my '37 tudor Here's another post discussing spacer rings vs spacer plates when using early Ford wire wheels on '40 to '48 drums.
