Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual Ron,
Last year, I walked around the whole swap meet before I made it to the buildings. This year I plan to go there first. Got some good stuff though. I wonder why they schedule it the same weekend as the National Roadster Show in Pamona? |
Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual This Swap Meet has always been on the last weekend in January, 50 years. I believe it started long before the Pamona Roadster Show ?

Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual Ron, Did you ever live in Modesto ?

Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual Steve,
Yes, from 1959 to 1988. Was in the Capitol A;s. Are you related to Bob Smith ? Bob had a beautiful 30 Open Cab Pickup. Ron |
Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual Not related to Bob, however would that be yourself, Phil Osterli and myself that dazzled the ladies in the Jr. Chamber events ? I will stop by the your booth in Turlock. Steve in Denair

Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual Ron,
Bob still has his 1930 roadster pickup. He had it in judging at the last roundup. I think he got 430 points. Tom Rut won best of show. |
Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual My weather app predicts rain in Turlock for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Is there a "rain date" or is it on rain or shine? Don't want to walk around in the rain.

Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual Tiny,
Don't mind the fog. My wife has arthritis so we have to park in the handicapped area in the dirt near the entrance. I just don't want her slogging in the mud. David Serrano |
Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual Be prepared for about a 10 mile walk that day. It's quite a large swap meet. She may choose to stay home as it looks like we are getting rain this year. It's been a while since its rain on the Turlock swap meet, I'm not going to complain as we need the rain BAD.
|
Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual Looks like it's going to be rainy and cold. Think I'll skip Turlock this year and go to the big 3 meet in San Diego next month.
|
Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual We will be there, T5 transmission overdrive kits, Ford 3 speed + overdrive kits, alternator kits , adjustable drag links , and more, in building #2
|
Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual ya gotta know how to play the game, We modify our offerings based on the weather. On sunny years its a lot of literature; cloudy years, we lean more towards iron and steel. This year? we'll be offering canoes and snorkels

In Eureka, CA. I made my fortune selling umbrellas in the winter time and raccoon coats and fir gloves in the summer time fog. I too will missing Modesto this year. But I won't miss a good swap meet - I'll be visiting my Basement and storage garage. |

Re: Turlock Swap Meet- 50th Annual I did my first Turlock back in the '70's.It has never failed to be great. I am surprised how many people never go inside the exhibition halls, which are full of parts too.
