1ba translates to 1951 ford V/8, if it was a merc part it would be 1951 1cm

Rear thrust bearing - .030 undersize. As noted it is a 1951 part number, but should fit 49 - 53 engines, Ford and Mercury.

1BA differenes were for several changes over the 8BA block. Rotator valves were one change and the crankshaft was changed to work with the automatic transmission. The main bearing shells may have had some small change for improvement for lubrication but I'd have to compare them with the 8BA ones to see. Once FoMoCo improved a part, it generally became the replacement part for all previous similar assemblies from that point forward.
