33-34 Pickup Seat

Guys
Working on my 33 Pickup field find and think the bottom seat spring is wrong but I'm not sure. The bottom spring is not the same shape as the metal seat box. The box is tapered on the ends where my bottom spring is not tapered on ends. Unless the spring sits on wood, does it? If it sits on wood and the upholstery fills in the void, then maybe I have the correct spring. Any help or pictures of just raw bottom spring would be appreciated. Thanks much.

I looked through my pictures, I am the third owner and I bought it as a running original.
the seat bottom is squared off and the seatbox is tapered, slightly inward. Maybe it makes it easier to slide your feet in as this is a tight fit. Most drivers then were probably around 120 to 140 lbs. Not like we are today.HaHa.
My pictures do not show the whole profile of the seat side.
Cheers, Byron.

My 34 cushion has wood under the springs. When covered correctly, there is a bead across the center, front to back.

Yes, the bottom spring is fastened to plywood that has two holes in it to locate it on the two protruding "knobs" that stick up on the front edge of the seat box. I don't have a pic of it but if you make one to fit the seat frame and staple it to your springs then it should work.

My seat bottom has a metal bars that have the holes at the front for alignment. Is that because it was made in Windsor , Ontario?
