It is an all out race cam. It probably holds more flathead records than any other race cam. If you have a 296 or bigger engine with a lot of go fast internal mods, it will work on the street also as long as you can put up with typical "big cam" manners at low speed.

I have a Potvin cam in my 286 CI flathead. The cam is marked on the end .415. No one has any information on it so I am assuming it has just a tad less lift than the .425. It runs strong, has a nice lope and I am more than pleased with it's performance. It's in my 50 Ford with a T-5 Mustang trans and Maverick rear end and a 3:50 gear. Runs good around town and cruises all day long at express way speeds. Around 2,000 RPM at 70 MPH. My bore is 3-3/8 X 4 with the Merc crank and trip 97's.
