Trunk lock

Can anyone explain to me how an MIAUTOLOCK actually works. I have a trunk with one of these locks on it. I also have a couple of keys. The lock cannot be locked with a key. Currently it is soaking in Liquid Wrench in an effort to free it up. Thanks for any help.
