28/M30 CCPU door window frame removal

Does anyone have a secret to getting these to slide off? I've removed the 3 screws at the top and understand it has to slide straight up on both sides. Does anyone have a trick to remove them without destroying them?

Ive been spraying and soaking the best I can with liquid wrench for the time being...

These are also identical doors to the 26/27 model T coupe if I remember right.

It sound like you are proceeding the way you should. I removed several door window frames on pickup doors. They weren't real tough to remove. I think if you keep soaking the insides of the frame it should loosen up. Are you sure you are getting the oil inside where the metal parts are stuck together? I used a piece of wood on the underside of the top corners and tapped the wood going from side to side. It finally broke loose and I could slide the frame up and out. I suppose the last resort would be to used a torch (very carefully) to break the metal pieces apart. Since the window frames are made of thin sheetmetal, care would need to be taken not to melt the metal.

I did mine about 5 yrs ago and still have nightmares. To get the liquid where it will do the most good,It would help if you remove the doors and put them on sore horses, then stand them on edge, hinge down, hinge up. Take time, tap tap.

yup i removed the screws along the top when the doors were on the truck but didnt do anything but soak. Doors are off now and I was planning on soaking and rotating every few days. The rust penetrant stuff works wonders if you give it time. I managed to get all the hinge bolts out with a well fitting screwdriver and wrench after soaking the buts every few days for a few weeks. Once i got past the lock washer doing its job I could spin the nut with my fingers. Only had to drill one screw head off due to previous attempt by someone else stripping it out.

It's been years since I removed my 29 door top, but besides the screws, isn't there a small round peg that fits into a hole?

Or, am I thinking of another part?

Aren't the ccpu doors the same as Tudor doors? I think I used a home made thick putty knife ground flat/stubby and on the jam/hinge side tap them up and off. Of course using a big hammer and tapped lightly :-)

28-mid 30 doors are NOT the same as coupe/tudor doors. 28-mid 30 doors are similar to 26/27 model T coupe/sedan doors. I have both types of vehicles.
