40 deluxe speedo problem The needle on my 40 deluxe speedometer is laying horizontal and not up on the 0 mark. Is there a needle stop? if so where is it so I can get the needle in correct spot. I haven't removed the needle from where it was originally. It works fine except for the needle. Thanks

Re: 40 deluxe speedo problem You’ll have to remove the instrument cluster then take it apart and reposition the needle to zero. The needle is a push fit on the shaft.

Re: 40 deluxe speedo problem See if you can add something to block the needle going beyond the 0 mark.

Re: 40 deluxe speedo problem Sounds like a chance to kill that spedo. I do all kinds of things but don't have the special tools to stabilize the needle shaft and pull the needle off for adjustment. Here in LA we have a few instrument repair shops that can do great things. If the spedo is otherwise in great condition makes it worth the cost. It may come off of the shaft easily, but it's yours to ruin. On line here we have some sharpies that take roached out instruments and put reproduction faces and declare them to be new.
