Rim spreader tools Hi guys , does any one know if Chevrolet or Ford had a wheel bigger than 20 inches that used a spreader tool .I dont want to buy the wrong size tool if there 20" and 24" rims. I cannot get a photo of one on here but there is a few for sale on evilbay . why i am asking, is the people with the tools for sale know nothing about them and i wanted to buy one as i have a job to replace tyres on 1929 Chev truck with 20 inch rims . Modern car tyre changers dont really work well on these wheels as they have 4 clamping jaws. Hope some of know what i need to know?

Re: Rim spreader tools I'm not sure what you are asking but Ford Model A wheels in 1928 and 1929 were 21 inches.

Re: Rim spreader tools Chevrolet used Jaxon rims that were 21". The rims were split and you can use a rim spreader to fit them to the tyres. Model Ts with with split rims used the same tool. I can dig up a photo of my rim spreader (it really is a contractor) that I used. A prior owner put Jaxon rims (and wheels, I assume) on my Model T.

Re: Rim spreader tools Earlier Model Ts had 30X3-1/2" tires which used a 23" rim (split).
