29 roadster top bows?

I'm in the process of restoring the convertible top on my 29 roadster and the #2 #3 bow is in good condition but the front bow has rotted beyond repair. I'm planning to make a new front bow but need help with 2 questions, 1) what type wood was used? 2) was the front bow curved at all? My old bow has an upward crown and I've noticed some examples I found online look straight from side to side and bow out toward the front. Do original drawings exist? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: 29 roadster top bows?

Ash wood was likely one of the woods used but Ford likely used several types of wood from the Iron Mountain source. Fordwood uses ash. They offer single bows too. Someone else with more eperience will have to help on the bow shape. The front bow is generally the header so it has the fit the windshield profile.
