Original Trico Wiper? This wiper was clamped onto the windshield frame of my 29 Phaeton. Can anyone confirm that it is an original Trico? It doesn't look exactly like the image in the Judging Standards. There are no screw heads in the back center panel.
I assume this was mounted with three holes through the frame? Does anyone know the appropriate measurement from the driver's side of the frame? https://photos.app.goo.gl/QZk3efNMiqJaPj3C7 |
Re: Original Trico Wiper? According to the Standards the 1929 had an electric wiper mounted to brackets, no
holes in the windshield frame. |

I only have two revisions to the Judging Standards (and still can't find stuff easily), but on page 21-4, the chart seems to indicate that vacuum wipers were 'special equipment' (optional?) in the latter half of '29. Was this revised? Did I read it incorrectly? I can't find any reference to bolted vs brackets - can you help with a reference? Brackets are certainly easier. Finally, any thoughts on the authenticity of the Trico wiper? |

Re: Original Trico Wiper? 1 Attachment(s)
On page 20-4 of the 2016 revision is states the OD-O1 was used through February 1929
and the shaft passed through the windshield frame. The OD-O2 use started in March 1929 and the shaft passed above the windshield frame. Open model wipers were secured to the windshield frame by gloss black enamel steel clamps. |
