260 motor parts

Friend has parts for 260 motor, heads, cam, crank, manifolds and pan. Are they worth anything or should I advise him to take to junk yard. Thanks

Re: 260 motor parts

Since they are becoming rare I would not trash them, the first Mustangs had a 260 and someone doing a restoration will pay good cash for numbers matching parts and the 5 bolt bell housing blocks are getting very scarce,Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/260-Ford-Eng...56c643&vxp=mtr .I suggest doing a search on ebay and www.zoomthelist.com to see what they are bringing there is some good tech info here:http://www.mre-books.com/interchange/index.html Click on the letters in blue so you can break down the codes.

Re: 260 motor parts

There are a lot of guys working with early Fairlanes as well as the guys with 64 1/2 Mustangs, both of which used a 260.
