Is the Detent in the outer edge of this 11-A cam plate there for a reason or is it it a blend out of damage?

That is a blem, I’ve run across a couple like that and the plate needs to be replaced as it will rip the leather pad off the vacuum brake plunger

It took me a while to get an 11-A core to rebuild and I’m unsure I’lll be able to get another here. Do you see any problem with welding up the damage area and reprofiling to original contour? I am in New Zealand at the moment waiting for the Australian Queensland borders to re open, great place to isolate.

That's sure what I'd do. If you can match and polish,it should work as good as ever.

Ramjet I believe that would work if it’s perfect workmanship. Then polish with no rough spots. You couldn’t be Quarantined in a better place. Eat all the fish n chips you can for me please.
Cheers
