Thanks for the 'heads up, but I don't understand the warning on the gmail account. Gmail is what I use and I've never scammed anybody. What's up with that ?

I'm a "gmail guy" as well. It's free, easy to set up, and works well.

I guess it attracts all kinds of people because of that. My uncle used to say : "Engage mind before turning on mouth (or fingers, in this case)".

SO FAR, I was scammed "once"(GMAIL account) and SO FAR three respondents for an add in the swap meet via my email....ALL three have been scammers.......ALL three have been GMAIL accounts. ALL three start by asking "where" am I when my "general" location is listed in the want ad!!!! SO "engaging" my mind, 100% of experience has "proved" to be a good indicator of a scammer!!!! "Engaging my mind" & "My fingers" so far!!!!

Again, gmail is the go to account for ease of use. In fact it was recommended to me when my previous provider ceased supporting emails. It's easy to use and instantaneous. So don't always assume a gmail account must indicate a scammer, but be aware they are as easy to set up for a scammer as anyone else. Same goes for hotmail.
Mart.

Re : "gmail". It's the old "All Poodles are dogs, but not all dogs are Poodles" problem.

All Poodles are canines. Not all are dogs, some are bitches. At least per the AKC definition. Now back to the regularly scheduled flathead programing.

When you see a Gmail account where the first name has a bunch of numbers after it - it is a good first indication to beware. They rapidly create these accounts - and obviously it is not their name, so they throw a bunch of bogus numbers afterwards . . . .
