Your thoughts and advice needed.

Hi,

I've been approached by a person that is wanting me to take a look at his deceased dads Model T in order to help him and his family get it ready to sell and also help in finding out what they should be asking for it. I'm a Model A / AA guy and really not too familiar with the T's so I thought that I would post some of the pictures here that he sent to me to see what you all thought about it.
I have not seen it as of yet.

I'm not sure what all you have there. The body looks to be a cut down touring type with characteristics of around 1915 or 16 but there are a lot of things missing, No Fenders or running boards unless the owner has them stashed. I'm not sure where the commercial pickup bed came from. I suspect that the owner wanted to make a pickup out of it which is not uncommon if parts are missing. It doesn't have the coil box like a 15 or 16 model. 1914 cars have the flat wood dash/cowl and that body doesn't have that.

It has some value there but I wouldn't know how to put a price on it. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

I also have that, same but different. Did run have fenders recently got back of body plan to make it a driver. Also want to know if such a thing exists, not that it matters authentic. What about model t clubs, may have a lineup of models, sales brochures.

I was thinking that it was a pickup project in the making too. Looked at some pictures of the 1914 T's and noticed that the cowl wasn't the same. I have no idea what other parts may be stashed about in the machine shed. Apparently the last time he was by the T he was able to turn the engine so at least it's not stuck. One of the pictures he sent me showed that the mice have been happily making nests in the seat for quite some time. Yuck!

Only '14 piece on that rig is the radiator, hood & possibly the front axle (over axle wishbone). Body is a cut-off touring with '23 - '25 w.s. posts, grafted on hood former, p/u box appears to be a '26, has a nice accessory Anderson combination manifold & a dandy Stromberg OF carburetor - value without hearing it actually run is the sum of it's better parts that someone will offer.

Many thanks, I appreciate all the information!

I don't see a generator peeking out from behind the radiator, so could be 1914 engine. What is the number on it over the water inlet, same place as Model A. Also, there should be a date code just behind that area. While it is a mixture of parts, as said there could be a few 1914, other wise, it is more 1915-1916 in style, except for that seat, windshield (1923-1925), wheels (1919-1926), steering wheel, body (1919-1923) and so on.

I’ve got a 90 year old neighbour who said he was a Model T and A specialist. I showed him the photographs. His comment was a whole bunch of different years parts with a whole bunch missing!

Sounds as if it is sort of a Frankenstein car with parts and pieces from many other cars / trucks. Talked with the gent a couple of days ago and let him know what folks were saying about it. It is an hour and a half away so I'm not sure when I will be able to get up there to see it

Anyone here live in the Columbus Nebraska area that would be willing to meet him to look at it?

Might be a '14 but has a later body from the hood former back, and electric lights. It would be good to verify the year of the chassis. Depending on what is truly missing I see $2500 - $4000.
