32 Cabriolet rumble seat gap ?

Maybe a question for David. Can anyone advise me of the dimension between rumble seat lid (when open)
and the back panel.....that is the panel between the lid and the spare wheel. Disregard steel rule !

See photo please....

I just went out to the garage and measured my 32 Cab - the dimension you show is about 3/4". I have all stock/original components, but I did replace the rubber bumpers that control the opening (one was missing, the other was shot). I made sure the bumper brackets were not bent as well - everything aligns as it should. Good luck - if you need any other 32 Cab stuff, just PM me.

David,

I'm on the road so I cannot help; sorry. What Bored&Stroked provided sounds about right.

As long as you have about 1 inch when you pull out at the top
that should be good. What you don't want is someone sitting in
the rumble pushing back and denting the lid. G.M.

Bore and Stroke...the dimension in the picture is actually 1.75 inches and not 0.75 inches. On my car it's 0.5 inches ???

A neighbour is rebuilding his cabriolet and is in need of that information. I do take on board both yours and David's comments .

Are the rumble stops present and set correctly?
IE is the lid at the appropriate angle? On a Model A, the gap does widen if the lid goes “deeper” into the opening

I have 1/2" clearance in the middle on my 32 roadster.

What I meant was that on MY CAR it is 0.75". Again - that is with NEW rubber bumpers and brackets that are not bent. The decklid was original with the car and the floor-pans are in great shape.

Petehoovie.....I don't know what you've been feeding my cabriolet but it appears to be the size of a real car whereas the picture I loaded was a 1:40 model..

Truly amazing !

On my 1932 3/W Coupe the gap is 3/4" it depends how the stops are set
