Re: Brass Polish? I've tried them all and my go to is Never-Dull polish. Very easy and goes along way.
Also if Brass has been sitting a very long time and severely tarnished, I use Lysol toilet bowl cleaner to get down to the polishable brass. I've been polishing the brass on my T for 60+ years. |
Re: Brass Polish? I've used Met-All products for many years. Their aluminum polish is the best to polish up unpainted aluminum aircraft and aluminum travel trailers. Their Brass & Copper polish for the yellow and red metals made just for them. It still comes in a can just like it did well over a half century ago. For big airplanes & Airstream trailers, it comes in gallon sized cans. The price is competitive.

Re: Brass Polish? I have had real good results with simichrome, If you can find it that "magic wading" I used to polish my brass when in the USMC worked real good.
Actually ketchup does remove stubborn oxidation on just about anything, but only Heinz 57:D |
Re: Brass Polish? Simichrome all the way- tried Never-Dull and it was not what I expected. Simichrome took 1/4 the effort and in half the time - sorry Dodge.

Re: Brass Polish? I used to polish with Simichrome, but bought a jar and then a tube (comes both ways) of Blue Majic polishing cream. Its good for mag wheels on a car, but is terrific for polishing brass, silver, gold and any metal, with less effort than Simichrome and goes a very long way. I used it to polish brass on my 1909 Model T for years, but finally had my restorer strip the brass with this special solvent, polish all the brass parts and then coat them, so now I don't have to polish brass anymore. It will last 10 years, which is fine with me. I won't last that long LOL

There are several polishes that are good for polishing brass on a Model T or any other brass items. Some popular choices are: 1. Brasso: A well-known and commonly used metal polish that works well on brass. 2. Simichrome: Another popular polish that can be used on brass, as well as other metals like chrome and stainless steel. 3. Wright's Brass Cream: A non-abrasive polish that is specifically designed for cleaning and polishing brass. 4. Flitz Metal Polish: A versatile polish that can be used on various metals, including brass. 5. Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish: While designed for magnesium and aluminum, it also works well on brass. Before using any polish, make sure to test it on a small, inconspicuous area to ensure it doesn't damage the brass or any surrounding materials. Also, follow the manufacturer's instructions for the best results. Happy polishing! |
Re: Brass Polish? I use California Custom Purple and Blue Magic. When something is really bad I use Brite Boy.
