Mercury Standard Pistons 3.1875 Source
 

Any one know of a source for standard bore 3.1875 Mercury pistons. I would prefer a set of CAST pistons for use with a 4 inch Mercury crank. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd also contact Egge . . . they've been a great supplier of almost every stroke/bore of cast piston for flatheads possible.

I really hate to say this, but "Speedway" probably has the best selection and prices. I have a set in my new 258" engine, and they are great!

I hear you on Speedway - there are products that I will buy from them and others that I will not. Pistons are something that everybody makes - nothing terribly unique in the flathead world, so if they have what you want and you like the price - go for it. Now when we get to things like the 'Super 97' carb - I wouldn't for a moment even consider one . . . terrible copy of a design that they didn't own . . .

Are you sure the bores in your block areOK for stock size pistons and do not need an oversize piston. The price is usually the same. This might make a better job.

Surprisingly, Offenhauser pistons listed in the current Speedway catalog are a lot cheaper than their own brand. I think they may be pricing the Offenhauser's to get rid of them to make room for their own brand. There might be an opportunity here. I don't really know anything for certain, just something to think about.
