'40 coupe - another antenna question II I have a roof-top antenna for my coupe.
there is a factory-made hole in the roof for the antenna. Is there a pre-made access hole to the rear-view mirror? do I have to drill an access hole for the antenna to the top of the dash? thank you, fordmany- |
Re: '40 coupe - another antenna question II On my '39, the antenna threads down behind the center trim piece that's on the inside of the windshield. Remove this trim piece and you'll get a better idea of how this works..

Re: '40 coupe - another antenna question II You have to use the drilling template supplied with the antenna and drill the roof. The rear view mirror bracket has a notch for the installed antenna to pass through, no modification. The radio has a special bolt on the top. The bolt attaches the radio to the hole in the dash top (no modification required) and the antenna passes through the hollow bolt and plugs into the radio. A plastic nut secures the antenna to the special bolt and covers it.

Re: '40 coupe - another antenna question II I did not want to put a hole in my roof. It was kind of half ass but i cable tied the antenna to the bottom of my running board. that was the best reception
