Anyone know or deal with an Alan Flowers??
 

It appears at this point he's a scammer, [email protected]. Beware!!!!!! Never sent tracking info, have emailed twice with NO response!!! Been over a week

I am suspect of any email @gmail. All the scammers on craigslist use that.

Really? gmail may be one of the most widely used email providers for anyone under 45.

Venmo, which you can (sometimes) get your money back ONLY IF they are still on Vinmo.......Guess what????

In no way to be critical, but because this is new to me, I looked up what they have to say.

Venmo ... states that the service is intended for use between friends, so you should never transfer money to someone you don’t know. You will not be able to get your money back from a bad actor if you willingly transfer them funds.

Might help someone in the future, hopefully.

Alan Flowers is Not a very common name,,,but I'd bet there are
still a fair amount of men with that very same name.

You should list a bit of a hint of his whereabouts, so some other
guy named Alan Flowers isn't thought to be this Scammer. :eek:

PS, I always get a phone number, if I am going to send someone
money, and I call that phone number to make sure it belongs to
that person, before ever sending out any money.
Not completely foolproof, but at least it would give "the law"
a place to start tracking a scammer...

That is how Venmo works. You 'send' the money to a phone number. I started using it so some of my younger clients could pay me. Asking them to send me a check or money order is like....well, let's just say I may as well be talking to my dog.

Venmo,,,I've never Heard of it, NO pun intended. ;):)

It does sound as if it should only be used, to transfer money,
strictly between friends that trust each other, correct ?

I still like to talk to people, that I don't know, over a phone
call to them, before I send them any money...

I hope you can get your money back Rock. Getting your
money stole by scammers, or anyone, definitely sucks.

I'm not familiar with Venmo, but hopefully this jerk did not get your bank account number during the transaction. If it was me, just to be safe, I would go to my bank and get a new account number.

Venmo is a product of PayPal. Don't think same rules apply but sending money to a phone number is no different than sending money to an email address.
