Re: NICE COUPE ON mafca ONLY 7000...... I don’t understand why this conversation keeps going on!!!
Every used car is different. What I might think is perfect, you might consider a 50 footer. There really isn’t a set price for a 1930 Coupe with xxx mileage. These are 90 year old antiques. With many different working parts, that have been owned in most cases by many different people and serviced by all levels of competence. Your trash is my treasure and your treasure is my trash. From 100 points to no points and everything in between. I sold a car three years ago for what I felt was a very fair price. The buyer told me after the sale, that he stole it. There’s an ass for every seat. Enjoy. |

Realistically, what should this car bring? While it says it was restored in 1964, when you look at the front axle, it appears not to have any paint as if to indicate that maybe all it received was paint & repair.. The fenders are kinda dull, and the hood does not align with the cowl. Additionally, they say it does not run. With a 50+ year old restoration, I would guess it may need a complete re-do to be up to 2019 standards, ...so isn't this just a nice solid car to do a restoration on?? If so, what is fair market value for that type of car?? . https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1570470186 . . . . . . |
Re: NICE COUPE ON mafca ONLY 7000...... Assumptions are just that. The price dictates a person in the market for a complete driver coupe should look at this car.It appears to me a few years back a car like that would have brought more, might have hit the market at 8500. My statement is predicated on a complete inspection and evaluation, like I say, assumptions are just that.If the engine locked up or has no compression that car rapidly becomes a 4500 dollar project..not a bad one, either.Decent coupe bodies alone are bringing that..

Re: NICE COUPE ON mafca ONLY 7000...... I see plenty wrong with the car. '30 Coupes aren't that hard to come by.
If I wanted one that badly, I'd rather pony up double that amount for a better car. Have you priced paint and body work lately? You can sink 10 to 15 grand in that right off the top depending on how much body work needs to be done. And then you have a list of to-do's with the car longer than Lincoln's funeral to address also. The gauges are unique. Where's the ignition switch? Is it that button on top of the steering column or is that the horn button? I wonder what other cobbled up goodies lurk with this Model A? Looks like it was painted with a mop. At least all that paint globbed onto the gas tank might have stopped it from leaking. I guess someone will buy the car and have fun, that's what it's all about. |

Its been proven time and time again, buy a fresh quality restoration you save thousands of dollars and years of labor. No doubt that's the smart money move. Some folks do enjoy a project and this appears to be a good one if your goal isn't fine point or touring class. |

Re: NICE COUPE ON mafca ONLY 7000...... If I was looking for a driver I'd jump on it, but I've got the 40 now. Not everyone wants something that's pristine.....................Just fun.

Re: NICE COUPE ON mafca ONLY 7000...... Not interested, have enough to do on the one I have, and no room for it. But I do like drivers, they have character and sometimes create a lot of friendly discussion with others. As long as the major components are OK (radiator, Motor, Drivetrain, brakes). Looks like a fun car.
Typically you do not get much for that kind of money, would be worth investigating if looking for a car. And it does look solid, not a rust bucket, looks like it was used and has some wear on the restoration, seat looks good, interior OK wheels OK, etc. Would want to know how long it has sat unused. |
Re: NICE COUPE ON mafca ONLY 7000...... I don't want to pour water on someones parade, however I bought a 30 coupe with new engine new cast brakes and a real nice driver for $9100.
I have put 10,400 miles on it in a year and a half with very little expense. I would love to upload a picture but a computer nincompoop. Gerry Birch Bay WA |

Re: NICE COUPE ON mafca ONLY 7000...... I would love to upload a picture but I'm a computer nincompoop.I think there are plenty of nincompoops on this thread. People love to pick other's stuff apart. So it needs some work to become a driveable fun car. Thats why the price isn't $30K.
