Re: Ammeter Flops to Full Discharge When Key On What happens when power beyond the switch is disconnected ?
What have you done to try find out what is wrong ? What happens when just the lights are turned on ? |
Re: Ammeter Flops to Full Discharge When Key On If the points are closed when the switch is flipped on, then the coil will be energized like an electromagnet until the points open again during starting, Full discharge seems to be excessive since the current draw isn't all that high with the coil. There may also be a problem with the ballast resistor.
You may get more answers on the early V8 part of the forum. |
Re: Ammeter Flops to Full Discharge When Key On Put an inline ammeter in the circuit and take an actual reading. So many of the replacement ammeters over the years have been junk. Even a good one gives a very general idea only.

Re: Ammeter Post Deleted Must be he fixed it and didn't want to tell us how. That happens here.
