What's it worth? I have the stock straight 6 motor/trans and other misc motor parts out of my 1947 Ford Fordor. But I have no idea what it's worth... Or if its even worth trying to sell. I don't just want to junk it. I figured someone may want an original motor/trans, but I have no idea what it is worth? Any ideas?

Re: What's it worth? It's absolutely worth trying to sell. Your engine is not only pretty darn scarce, it's a strong, cool running Ford. I'd suggest mounting it and the tranny on a test stand to demonstrate that it's not an anchor. It'll sell if it runs.

Re: What's it worth? If the trasmissions good it should be good for $150 + alone.

Re: What's it worth? Someone contacted me the other day about needing a generator and some other parts. PM me and I will pass on the info.
Thanks Rod |
Re: What's it worth? Fibber, the trans would go for $150 by itself? I'm not sure if it is good though.... And the motor COULD run, just needs to be flushed out. How much could I put the motor up for? I'm an honest person, so I dont want to rip people off, I just dont know how much these things go for.

Re: What's it worth? Whats the best way to tell if it is good? It seems to go through the gears fine...

Re: What's it worth? I'd open it up and see what it looks like and then take some pics and then either part it out or put the whole trans on ebay. Do a search for flathead transmission on ebay and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Re: What's it worth? I didn't know people bought only the parts for these. That is an option for me, I just don't want to be sitting on it forever. I'll have to do some looking like you reccomended. And I have wanted to openit up since I got it inJune, so I might have to do that this week!
