Any insight/knowledge on how to identify a true Henry grill from a reproduced one?

On the repos usually the crank hole looks different than the one on an original.

The only 35 repop grilles I am aware of were made many yrs ago in Australia. Its been so long that I can't remember the differences if any. Post a pic of what you found or have.

I haven't found one yet.
I'm still looking but I'd like to know all I can and what to look for when the opportunity comes along.

I would recommend that you attend some Early V-8 Club events(when they start happening again) and talk with '35 owners. Take some photos of those grilles that are original. Also Don Rogers visits this site and you might want to send him a PM regarding your question. Don was a coauthor on the V-8 club's 35-36 Ford book. Don is Mr. 35.

The Australian made repro 1935 grille looks exactly like the original including the crank hole. Not made now I believe. The one made in Argentina has a round trim on the crank hole cover. Also not made anymore I dont think. Regards, Kevin.

This is what the bottom of an original 1935 Ford Grille looks like. Notice the squarish shaped hold for the crank handle.

I'm thinking deuce lover probably ment to say Argentina instead of Australia. I bought a '35 grille in the mid 60's at one of the Early Ford stores in California that was made in Argentina, and you could tell from 20' away it was not like the original. It started rusting almost as soon as I installed it in my 3w coupe.

Restored Cars Magazine - Jan-Feb 2004 featuring Australian made 1933, 1934 and 1935 Ford Grilles. These Grilles were made in Australia as you can see from the picture on the cover. They were also made in Argentina, but I believe that the Australian ones were more accurate. Will try and hunt down a copy of this magazine so that I can share the write-up with Ford Barners.

No John, Australia. CW Moss used to stock them back in the mid 1990's and they looked pretty good.

I had heard of the Argentina made ones. I wasn't aware of the Australian made ones.
It's why I thought I'd ask the question here.

I can read it also. I liked the information on how to treat rusty chrome. I have a few pits on my windshield frame that I am thinking of using this treatment on.
