I need some advice. I started my 1930 model A truck tonight for the first time this year. The motor sounds great but it had a vibration and made an ungodly sound when revved up. had my wife come out and had her rev it up and give it some R's. I narrowed it down to the water pump shaft. I could wiggle the four blade fan and shaft in and out.
My question is, is there any way by taking the four bolts out of the pump to slide it and the blades out without removing the radiator? I imagine I will have to put new thrust washers and felts in. I would appreciate any help.Thanks Bob

The 4 blade fan is not a fix for anything nor is is it more serviceable, actually less serviceable. This is a situation where "if it's in your way, remove it." If you don't want the 4 blade after you put in the aluminum 2 blade, cut off 2 blades and R&R is easier. Tests have shown that the 2 blade moves more air than a 4 blade. If you are partial to the 4 blade, get out the tools. Also. the fake stud and nut kit is great but you have to be able to remove the old studs and that can be daunting.

I would have no problem with putting a 2 blade on. I'm just trying to get a smooth runner. I'm not partial to the 4 blade. I am a little confused in your comment about fake nuts.
All I asked was does the radiator usually have to come out?

If I remember right...if you have studs holding the pump on I think it does. If you used bolds then I think you just pull it forward and then remove the pump.

Bratton's or Snyder's has the "fake" nuts you questioned. Bratton's # 12300 and Snyder's # A8501-MBM. Easy pump removal W/O removing radiator. I think all the venders also carry them.
