1929 CC Pickup Front Bumper The front bumper on my 1929 Closed Cab Pickup is two realatively flat blades. But I have see other CC pickups where the bumper ends flare back. Could I ask for advise on what the correct bumper would be for my 29. Thanks.

Re: 1929 CC Pickup Front Bumper 1929 pickups used the same front bumpers (no rear bumpers on CCPU's) as passenger cars. 28 and 29 front bumpers are swept back past the bumper clamps. 30/31 bumpers were mostly straight with a slight curve to them. It sounds like you may have 30/31 bumpers on your 29 CCPU.

Re: 1929 CC Pickup Front Bumper What he said. you got a 30 31 bumper.

Re: 1929 CC Pickup Front Bumper Someone may of had to do that, the swept back bumpers i have seen can get awfully close to the tires on some cars/trucks. Usually due to misaligned other parts or incorrect parts used but be aware of it.

Re: 1929 CC Pickup Front Bumper Make sure it is not an early 30 transition pickup, I don't know how "officially correct" it is but I have seen some 30's with a combination of parts from the old 29 cab style and new 30 equipment, lights, twist on gas cap etc.

Re: 1929 CC Pickup Front Bumper Thanks guys. As always very helpful. Pretty sure I have a 30-31 front bumper. So I will search down a 28-29 Front Bumper.

Re: 1929 CC Pickup Front Bumper Before you change bumpers, verify that your pickup is acutally a 29, and not an early 30 with a 29 looking cab. Is your gas cap a fine thread screw on cap, or a quarter turn cap like a 30 and later cap? Many pickups were made in early 30 with the 29 style cab. I have seen the early 30 pickups with a mix of 29 or 30 bumpers, or headlights, or both.
