97 stromberg on a standard 28 -possible?

Hi Everyone, I've tried to see what's out there regarding this but it seems there are a few opinions. My motor is stock. Will a 97 work or should I look at an 81 Stromberg. Thanks

My car ran better with the 97.

Thanks 1929, I'm guessing you're running a fuel pump?

I was, but not needed as long as I don't go over 60mph for to long.

I run a 97 on my A ,no fuel pump ,it will run up hil,l on the flat, and full throttle right down to empty.
Do a search under my posts and see the float valve mod I did,

I would recommend the new Strombergs made in England, a lot less trouble. They actually just started reproducing an 81 sized carb which I have yet to try but seems very good.

A single "97" will work just fine.

If you were running a dual carb intake, 2 "81's" would work best.

Use one 97, or two 81 carbs on a Model A. You can use two 97 carbs, but must run them lean.
