'57 Fairlane 500 Convertible top latch.

Can anybody tell me what keeps the top latches locked in place? My latches look like they have had tape on them to keep them latched. Do they have some sort of spring to hold them in the closed position? A photo might be helpful if someone can help? Thanks, Meric.

Solved thanks :)

The latch itself has an eccentric.

The 57 SHOP MANUAL on PAGE 9-25 has the description and adjustment procedures.

The PN is B7A 7650508-A and its both 57/58.
