'36 Ford Woodie wiring help, please. My Woodie has all original wiring. I often get blown fuses and a run-down battery. Headlights work until a fuse blows. Horn always works. The insulation is frayed and there's plenty of exposed wire throughout the car.
Should I replace the whole thing? Do I go and buy a complete wiring kit and make that my summer project? Do I get under there and wrap it with electrician's tape? I am no mechanic but handy enough with stuff like this. Any advice? |
Re: '36 Ford Woodie wiring help, please. By all means replace the wiring harness. Who knows if you get a short someday and the car goes up in flames. I did the woodie you see in my avatar and I just finished a 48 F1. I bought the harness for the F1 at Sacramento Vintage. Here's a link http://www.vintageford.com/sect_sear...ategory=Wiring
You will need under dash, engine compartment, headlight, headlight crossover, tail light, tail light cross over, horn. There instructions are very simple to follow. |

Re: '36 Ford Woodie wiring help, please. Timo, don't fool around with tape. You can replace that wiring harness in a weekend and you won't regret it!
