Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank 1 Attachment(s)
Hallo und schoenen guten Abend!
Does anyone know this interesting and beautiful accessory? Possibly also a source of supply? |
Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank They come from Brassworks. I prefer their overflow tank that fits between the radiator and shell and is hidden.

Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank Can you pressurize a AA system having a std cooler, or do you need an aftermarket cooler made to be pressurized? Chris |
Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank Someone had rigged up an overflow on our '28 Sport Coupe when I bought it by attaching an anti-freeze jug to the firewall with wire ties and connecting a hose. I removed it on the way home and deposited it in the first recycling bin that I saw.

Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank Hallo,
thanks for answers. I don't need the part, because the engine do not lost water. I want it, because it looks very nice and it is a tool at that time. MAC's sell it, but the shipping costs ar more than 120 $, that's too much. |
Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank A schnapps bottle could work.

Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank Get one of them fancy insulated thermos coffee cups from Starbucks for $100 and just set it on the passenger seat.
Does your car "pass" off that much coolant that you need a recovery tank? Once they find their "happy level" adding more liquid just means it has to pass it off to get back to it's happy level. Just my experience with these. I had one on a 52 V-8 but never felt the need on the "A". Chap |
Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank Whether you need it or not its kind of a neat accessory and isn't really a modification, more of just an add on. I top off my radiator every spring when I get the car out, it then blows water for a few minutes then I never have to add again for the year but still, if I had a neat little tank like that one I think I'd put it on. Conversation piece. When I go to a car show and look the cars over, there are lots of horrible "fixes" that usually just make you wince , but once in a while you see a really neat and nicely done little add on that makes the car more interesting.

Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank I need to add this or something similar for a number of reasons but mainly after seeing the effects antifreeze has on a pet (dog) there is no excuse for allowing this stuff to seep all over the ground...
Granted I cleaned up the "spill" but even the diluted antifreeze was enough to almost kill our dog. It took 5 days and a lot of Vodka to save her life. The cost of this overflow tank is a very small fraction of the vet bill and the prevention of poisoning and possible death of you furbuddy makes it worth its weight in gold... |

Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank Wrong topic.
My overflow is vented to the road. |
Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank They are available at any hot-rod shop or by mail from Speedway Motors in Nebraska, Summit Racing, etc.

Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank Good evening, is there someone here who maybe has a photo of an engraving o. e. of this part from that time?

Re: Ford Model A Coolant Overflow Tank 1 Attachment(s)
Would someone please show me how to install the cooling water compensating cylinder? I thought it was screwed between the radiator and the mask frame. But that's wrong.
Thanks in advance! |

I see that you also have Jim's front tool box. I also assembled them. |
