34 pickup spare tire holder

Does anyone have a picture of what the spare tire attachment looks like. I have the rod and the brace in place, but there has to be another piece that attaches the rod to the wheel. Some sort of backing plate since the rod comes exactly in the center of the large wheel opening.
Thanks,

Ed

Be aware that those plates with the three studs for mounting the wheel on the side-mount brackets are unique for the left and right sides of the vehicle. Normally originals are stamped with either an L or R to distinguish the two. As you might imagine, those for the left side are scarce in North America.

This is what David is talking about Left and Right 1933-1934 Ford Side Mount Spare Wheel Mounts. They will both interchange, however the Spare Wheel will be at an angle if the wrong one is used.
My 1934 Ford Phaeton with a Side Mount Spare came with the incorrect bracket, and I wondered why the spare wheel was always at an angle.
That was until I discovered that the one that was on the car was for the opposite side. All corrected now.
If you look at the above pictures, you will see that the Black one on the left has an L stamped into it, while the rusted one, that I removed from my Phaeton, also has an L. That is why it was incorrectly fitted from the Factory from new.

Thank you, all for your pictures. I'll create a part like that.

Should you being looking for one of those flanges at a swap meet, note that the '32 version is very similar to the '33-'34 version and they can be easily mistaken for one another given that neither version has a stamped-in part number. Unlike the flanges in the photos above, the slot and the depressed area surrounding the slot in the '32 version is centered in the flange by being slightly lower than those in Trevor's photos.
