I'm at a similar point with my '36 pickup using a '38 frame and a '40 engine.

Do your pedals hang from the cab or mount on the frame rail? Mine are on the rail and the pivot in the center of the frame would have been extremely challenging to install if the trans and torque tube were in the way.

Looks good Relics,make sure you scrape paint off starter mount for a good ground through starter. ken ct.

You've got a nice looking build going. I did the same thing with my present 40 p-up build (non-stock). Got 2 1/2 trucks plus another cab, culled through everything and sold off what I didn't want. And it does "wear you out" from time to time, I can agree with that, causing "lapses" in build time. Hey, it's a hobby and you do it because you love to do it - you don't "have" to do it.

I have a couple like this, and they are neither the inside hub or outside hub.

The hub and drum are one piece.

What are these type known as and or what years were they used?

If you use a new reproduction gas tank the holes to mount the new tank need to be re drilled. ( I think 5/8" forward ) This will let the fill hose go through the side of truck so it will connect to fill tube, still have my old tank if you need one. I would purchase a new one because of rust and new one has a baffle. New tank will also have to be painted. Need to think about your gas sending unit and gas gauge. Your work looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info on the Hubs.

I saw a full set on a 42 that came from South Africa. I would guess the running gear for the SA car came from Canada.

It must be nice to have the pick of 3 donors when deciding which parts to use. I have a 41 on the backburner, but it's nowhere near as nice as yours.

Got a little more done on the '41, a NOS fan, exhaust manifolds on, engine splash shields, anti-chatter rods, dipstick and got the starter and generator rebuild except waiting for a starter drive.

Suggest removing those nice shiney new grease zerts at the rear axel bearings and replacing with a plug before someone accidently pumps the brake drum full of grease.

No, Just a friendly reminder. It has been done in the past by unknowing individuals who upon seeing a grease zert decide it must be greased. This location was not one of Ford's better idea's. You have a great start to a real fine looking truck. Very good quality workmanship.

I swapped out distributors and that made all the difference, runs like a clock now..:D I'm starting on the cab now, rust free here we come.

Those are '40-'41 manifolds, and its Ford green from one of the vintage Ford parts vendors....
