My wife and I restored this one from a beat up farm truck in two years.

Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons 1 Attachment(s)
I got this truck in Salem, Mass. in 1980 and did a total restoration, finishing in 2008.

Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons I got my four cylinder '41 pickup in about 1980 and it's about half way finished. I have lots of other priorities and I will move it up in priorities when I finish my '40 coupe.

Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons I have a 41 but it has been sitting under the shelter, untouched, for several years. It might be another thing my wife has to deal with at the estate sale.

Here is mine.

Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons Here is my friends 4 cylinder. Sort of rare. I believe (maybe I am wrong) that 1941 is the only year that Ford offered a 4 cyl, 6 cyl, and 2 v-8's.

Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons Built mine from an assortment of parts (both car and truck as you can see). Check out my album for a bunch of photos...It runs and drives great but it's a bitch in the rain.

Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons I don't have a lot of room in the garage, but it is always inside:
http://i1319.photobucket.com/albums/...psdaf0f2f6.jpg Old skinny tires do not do well in the snow. This is Atlanta on a road with absolutely no salt. http://i1319.photobucket.com/albums/...pse47a156a.jpg It's been converted to 12v and has the "59" flathead with the "A" heads. http://i1319.photobucket.com/albums/...ps77d601f7.jpg I'm not sure what the 59 is for the engine. I've heard of 59AB engines as later 40's to early 50's year production. Rather proud of my license plate as well, it is the correct weight class for this truck:http://i1319.photobucket.com/albums/...ps39d232eb.jpg |
Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons will go better in the snow if you let some air out of the tires. Like your truck. Used my 41 today to haul some limbs out of the yard down to the burn pile today--my wife just laughted and said, bet I would not do that with the fixed up one. She is right, but a few more scratches in the beater makes no difference

Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons I have been wrenching on this one about 6 years now and I'm starting to see the end. There is a show here in about 3 weeks I'm shooting for. Powered by a 401 Buick Nailhead and 700r4 trany.

This thread is total heartbreak for me!. I sold my 40 & 47 2 years ago. Worst mistake i ever did and cant let it down. But i still have my F1 and all is good. Best looking trucks by far!

Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons bought it in 2009. Started driving it 12/12/12. Two changes on the video.
1. Isky dosen't make heads, they are Offenhauser. 2. Now has a Edelbrock 500 not a Holley 390. Check my albums for more pictures. |

This is my '40 at the Early Ford V8 eastern meet in Saratoga Springs, NY in 2011. I bought it in Salem MA in 1980 and it came from Indiana and was Ford tractor Gray with black fenders and a wooden flat bed. Anyone remember it??

Re: Calling out all 1940 1941 Ford 1/2 tons I have a '41 that I bought sometime back and have driven it allover the place. It's a fun truck and gets lots of looks. Doesn't have a flattie , but the outside is all stock. The wide whites, chrome wheels with 50 Merc caps and the old lacquer checked paint creates a lot of conversation.
