Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find "What is the hardest Model A accessory to find"
The accessory I don't have. |
Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find There are two very rare examples on ebay item 190610829514. It's an early '28 roadster with very cool after market headlight lens and the most elegant rear view mirrors I have ever seen. "Nymph" rear view mirrors, mounted on the dual spares... I, who have always thought too many excessories detracts from the car, will admit, I love these two items.

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find My '29 coupe has a 1 1/2 inch drop block on the steering column mount. Lots of patina. I think I read somewhere that they were used on 400-A's, phaetons, and vickys?? One supplier is selling repros for $35.00. Longer bolts must be used with drop block.

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find id think that the model A snowmobile conversion is about the hardest to find.

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find The genuine Ford fender mounted parking lights. Are the rarest Model-A
accessory that I can think of. "Supposedly" authentic ones have been offered for sale on eBay, but I had my doubts. Occassionally you will see a pic of a car with them on it. However, never a good close up shot to really see what they looked like. :o Bob-A:D |
Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find I think the hardest to find, unautherized accessory is the gas tank filler box. There was a post a year or so ago about them, soon after one showed up on ebay, brought big money. Sorry I don't have a picture...

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find The Tux away rumble top is a rare one also.
|
Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find Anyone have a picture of these fender mounted parking lights?? I have a set mounted on a set of 29 CCPU fenders obtained from a friend, and if they are rare, then I need to return the lights to him. Obviously, I am NOT an expert on the "A" - nor much of anything else!! If you have a picture or a reference - please send it to [email protected].

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find I think the hardest accessory to find are the Lap Robes. I have only seen just one example.
They were: 52" x 64": A-18545-A (Gray); A-18545-B (Blue); A-18545-C (Brown); 52" x 58": A-18545-A1 (Gray). Why? Deteriotion of the cloth over the past 80 years or so. Introduced in early 1931. I bet between all of us we could put together a great "site" showing all the Ford Accessories if there is not one already...is there? Pluck |
Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find I'd like to find a rear end that looks completely stock, but has an overdrive in the differential. It's in that yellow accessories book.

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find Hi Steve,
There is a site for accessories-I will try and find it and post it. Here it is: http://users.erols.com/b-dwheeler/indexacc.html Mike |
Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find The cast iron dual updraft manifold, like I have on my roadster is not easy to find. xxxhttp://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...rld/Jam784.jpg

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find purdy, nice set up, but for me, it looks like the carb almost touches the tail pipe. It would be my luck if I was running that, the rear carb needle and seat would get debris to stick it open and catch my car on fire...

The only thing I know about this intake is that it was bought at a farm auction about 50 miles north of the Twin Cities about 15 years ago. I suspect that someone made a one off experimental intake back in the 20's or 30's. |

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find Tom, Thats one goofy looking intake, have you tried it out yet? Have you figured out what the jets or screws in it do?

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find 1 Attachment(s)
Try this rare intake & exhaust manifold that takes a standard carb but is documented to give 36 miles per gallon . I have the full history as to when they where made , who by , turned up on NZ e bay, couple of years ago, Have dismantled it & taken picture of inside. Will fit RHD vehicles .
Had a pair of 28-29 fender lights few years ago, pos english, gave them away. early AR RHD hand brake , have a couple of them. |
Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find Here is another sort of hard to find period correct accessory. The Fumaze has come up and been discussed here recently. Here is mine. xxxhttp://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...rld/Jam786.jpg

Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find "Debris would have to enter through the fuel line to clog the needle valve."
I should have been a little more specific, that is what I was refering to, in turn dumping the fuel onto the muffler, thats my kind of luck... Quickchange and Tom, you guys find some wierd stuff.... |
Re: What is the hardest Model A accessory to find I agree with Bob-A. There are two distinctly different catagories of Model A accessories. Authorized and Unauthorized. On the Authorized list for things that attach to the vehicle I vote for the fender lights. I have a set for the 29 vehicles but they are not with me here in AZ to provide a picture. The lights mimic the headlights down to the lens style only in miniture. I looked at Hershey for over 15 years before I found the 29's. Altough I wanted 30's I didn't pass them up just because of the rarity.
