Announcing The 2026 Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards

1 Attachment(s)
The Model A Restorers Club is excited to announce the release of the 2026 Revisions to the Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards.

Pre-order is available now on the MARC website https://modelarestorersclub.org/prod...ds-revision-5/

This joint endeavor between the two Model A Clubs (MARC and MAFCA) is the result of thousands of hours of independent research done by hundreds of volunteers. Using factory records and inspection of unrestored original vehicles, this latest version builds on the already expansive revision last issued in 2016. The most notable update is the upgrade to color photographs to better highlight the details of the Model A and its production.

The work of both clubs and their Judging Standards Committees shows in the high quality presentation of the new standards. We extend our appreciation to all those who have dedicated their time and money to creating this document. Some of those contributors have passed away and we especially want to thank them for their contributions.

This book is a must have for people who care about their Model A's and want to know more about how these cars were originally built. While it serves as a set of judging standards its most important job is helping inform Model A owners about their cars and what they need to make their cars the best they can be.

Pre-order your copy now, with pick up available at the MARC National Meet in French Lick, Indiana with shipping expected to start in late June.

Why can't we purchase just the update sections like before?

My guess is because they replaced the photos on so many pages, you wouldn’t save much.

It's a complete rework. New sections many color photos etc etc - retire the old one to the garage since you will no longer care if it gets greasy fingerprints on it now that your new one is safe in the bathroom library..........

The 2026 Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards

MARC National 05-16-2026 07:07 AM

Re: Announcing The 2026 Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards

The new 2026 Revisions will be a completely new set and will render previously issued revisions obsolete. There is more new content than old and the addition of colored photos enhances any current versions. Printing costs being what they are these days it is in the best interest of the clubs to only produce one version of the standards, and they are an incredible update.

590 pages, color photos, new sections, and more info about the Model A and AA Ford than has ever been published before. All for $65 ($80.95 after shipping).

Pre-order your copy here!

We'll look into that for you. If you ordered just the Standards the shipping should have been less than that. If you added other items to the cart it changes the postage cost.

What was the name the order was placed under?

Re: Announcing The 2026 Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards

I just ordered mine, nothing else in the order. Same shipping cost: $22 shipping to South Carolina.

Order confirmation #5157.

It also sez it will be shipped in 7 days. I thought this was a pre-sale?

Edit: It looks like the MAFCA site doesn't mention "pre sale" at all...but the MARC site sez pre-sale and gives end of June as the expected shipping date.

That isn't a MARC order number. so we won't be able to help you with that transaction.

The books will be available in late June if you pre-order from the MARC site.

Yah, I ordered from MAFCA (I'm a member), I didn't even look at who you were...:D I probably ought to be a MARC member, as it is my first name.

When we were looking at cars to buy, Miz Diane was walking around one and I heard her say,

"Oh, Hell..."

"What?"

"This one's actually got your name on it. A little blue badge!"

That little blue badge has been proudly displayed on Model A's since 1952, we'd love to have you as a member!

It took a lot of men and women to build the Model A and it took a lot of men and women to assemble these standards!

The picture of the car judge using the Restoration Guidelines in the ad has an exhaust manifold on the driver’s side of the Coupe.

Anyone else notice that?

I don’t think it’s a Model A he’s judging. Or else the car will be losing a lot of points.

Re: Announcing The 2026 Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards

I noticed that when I bought a new set of standards a couple of months ago.I think I mentioned it here, along with thinking it pictured an OHV engine too.The book looks to be hardcover, perfectly supported in in the air.Just AI at work.Lots of things in that picture point to,not real.

For sure. Looks like a carburetor and air cleaner also sitting on top.

Won't be long (actually already) that a picture doesn't prove a point - might "paint a thousand words" but who's to believe them? Hopefully the potential huge benefits of AI and similar are going to outpace the potential problems created.

Only a test to see if you need the completely new Revisions.

Be the first on your block !

Re: Announcing The 2026 Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards

MAFCA charges $22 for shipping
MARC charges $15.95
I also saved about $7 since I live in CA and MAFCA has to charge me sales tax
MAFCA has a 3.5% fee for using your CC
MARC will give you $5 off for direct bank transfer of your payment
The MARC site says shipping will start late June
MAFCA total $96.35 (for my location)
Bottom line MARC for the win @ $80.95

Discussed in depth at the time on the problems of using AI to create content. It was determined that AI did not mean Artificial Intelligence but was in reality ALWAYS INACCURATE.

Good eye Jim!! That is really comical.

It has been determined by our Tools Coordinator that our Club does not need the updated Restoration Guidelines and Judging Standards.

Absolutely! We're planning on having a good stock there to sell. We'd suggest stopping by the MARC booth early in the week to grab your copy.
