Ol' Ron I heard from one of Ron’s people—family—and the news ain’t good. Sounds like the end is close, the last lap coming fast, and not much left in the tank. Figured you all ought to know.
Ron’s been a fixture around here, a permanent ghost in the machine. One of those rare souls who becomes part of the scenery without ever fading into it. And as far as I’m concerned, he’ll always be here—lurking in the margins, in the threads, in the grease-stained fingerprints we leave behind. But goddamn… he’s gonna be missed. Fiercely. |

Re: Ol' Ron Likewise ! We here have been blessed by many members such as Ron and I sometimes wonder how "newcomers" can be equally benefitted.

Re: Ol' Ron Sorry to hear this.

Re: Ol' Ron Sorry to hear about Ron. He's been a fixture on this site as long as I can remember. I remember my F.I.L. talking about when his father got bad, he said "I can't do what I want anymore". I understand more and more everyday...

Re: Ol' Ron Grab his book if you see one !! Newc

Re: Ol' Ron Ron was one of those super nice guys, who just
jumped at the chance to help others... He will surely be missed by all here at the Barn. :) . |
Re: Ol' Ron He is as much of the fabric of the BARN as anybody could be. Always willing to contribute anything he knows and doing so in a way that had class, zero expectations and no ego involved. Also, he was more than willing to contemplate other ways of accomplishing the task - completely open minded (which is rare). He has been as good of a member of this site as anybody could ever be.
If he is on his way out, Godspeed to you Ol' Ron - you will be forever a part of this place . . . and THANK YOU for all you've done for all of us. We will miss you - always! |

Re: Ol' Ron Prayers for Ol’ Ron and his family as he completes his journey.
|
Re: Ol' Ron I only knew him from his postings on this site, but always appreciated his knowledge and common sense. He even injected a little humor when needed. These type of posts always remind me of the old George Jones song " Who's Going To Fill Their Shoes".
|
Re: Ol' Ron Ryan, Thanks for sharing this very sad news. I ALWAYS read his posts. I had learned a lot from a guy that had "been there and done that".

Re: Ol' Ron Ron , praying for you , either way Ron , go all in , foot to the floor .

Re: Ol' Ron Very sad to hear this news.
I first met Ron many years ago at the Amherst, NH Sunday morning flea market. Wonderful guy to talk with and VERY helpful in educating me on Flatheads. I bought a merc crank form him at his house. I took my very young Son with me, who is 45 now. At his house he gave me a draft of his book and I provided a few comments to him. One of the great ones!! Glenn |
Re: Ol' Ron I'm running an L100 cam because of Ol' Ron's enthusiasm for it.
Reminds me of Walt DuPont...leaving a void. Prayers for Ron |
Re: Ol' Ron I'm very sorry to hear this, I will keep him and his family in my prayers

Re: Ol' Ron Prayers for Ron and family. May the last lap be a trophy lap!

Re: Ol' Ron Very sad to hear. Legend.

Re: Ol' Ron A real common sense guy with a wonderful sense of humor. I always got a chuckle out of his spelling! I am not sure if he did it just to make us smile. It sure did me!! Guys like Ol'Ron are irreplaceable!

Re: Ol' Ron So sad to hear this terrible news.
Ron has such wisdom on the flathead Fords. Will be greatly missed by all. Sal |
Re: Ol' Ron Gosh, it saddens me greatly to hear that Ol' Ron is making his last lap around the flathead track. May God Bless him and his family. Ron is a legend in his own time and will be greatly missed on Fordbarn and by all those who knew him. He helped so many people and willingly shared his knowledge. He made the world a better place. Can't believe so many of the "old time hot rodders" are leaving us. So sad.

Re: Ol' Ron Ron was such a nice person, and his knowledge was something else,

Re: Ol' Ron Ron and I talked fairly regularly and Molly and I would get down every few months to take him out for lunch. Late last week Ron mistakenly, (twice), dialed my number while trying to get his Sister-in-Law. (His Son and Sister-in-Law live just up the road from Ron). I called her and she told me Ron was losing ground quickly. Tuesday I tried to call Ron. His son, that lives with him, told me that Ron had gone to the hospital.
Ron is another person I met late in life. As we get older there are more people that we didn't know long enough. Peace be with Ron and his family. |
