The Last Ride Of The Year

Mid December in Nebraska and I was able to put 150 miles on the 40 after lunch. Perfect weather, didn't need the heater and there was no wind. Bad weather starts tomorrow and will probably end the season. Merry Christmas

I’m really glad that your ominous title is not as sad as it sounds! Merry Christmas to all!

Re: The Last Ride

My last ride will be for real in the next few days. My grand son is finishing to assemble the brake system, on my forty tudor that i had problems with.

I was diagnosed with inoperable cancer 3 weeks ago, so now all that's left is to wait for the final outcome. But i still like to keep busy as much as i can.

I have to say that the people on the Ford Barn have been great.

In case anyone is in terested i'm 87 . Tryed to catch Ol'Ron in age, but didn't happened.

Damn, Leo, that's tough. So sorry to hear that. On a brighter side, I hope you're able to connect with your grandson in the good ways that only this kind of project can further. You got me by 5 years, not too shabby!

I'm sorry to here that, Leo.

I wish you the best! Stay busy and happy.

I'm not that far behind you, at 78.

Re: The Last Ride Of The Year

Sorry Leo hope for the best and enjoy the time you have left. God bless you. There's always a miracle. I have a friend that 2 cancer centers sent home to die. My wife suggested the place that cured her cancer and that was 2 years ago and he's back to doing most of what he did before Cancer. I have edited my title to reflect what I meant. Sorry

Excruciating news Leo, thanks for all your posts and I hope you have hospice care. All of us need to enjoy each day. You have the right attitude. I am sorry you may not catch Ol' Ron.

After reading this post I said screw the weather and fired up my 41 pickup and went for a drive blowing smoke the whole time. I will do those things I want as long as I am able as we all should . Live life to the fullest, spread love and happiness as much as possible and make that last ride count. Tim

Re: The Last Ride Of The Year

Thanks everybody for the encouragement, but i'm already limited by my physical activities, because weakness has already invaded me, i was told that the cancer i got was the very aggressive one that works fast.

So i'm letting nature take its course, and with all the help i'm getting i'll be fine.

Hope

Hope,
Taking a ride in a purple 40 Ford, with your grandson, wondering if the brakes are going to work. You are one lucky guy.
Thank you for sharing.

Leo, This is one time when the expression 'enjoy the ride' is to be taken literally. Wishing you all be best from afar. Barner friend, Gary

Leo,

hopefully your cancer can be contained, to give you many more days.

We have had a similar diagnosis here this yr, but are seeing better results these days.

hang in there and chin up!

and take another ride........

A purple 40 avatar & a member titled 'Hope' speaks volumes... will pray for you as well.

Re: The Last Ride Of The Year

Leo, Sorry to hear that! My cancer was an aggressive kind as well. Was told I had "a chance" which didn't sound encouraging, but that was 10 years ago! Prayers your way for sure. Hang in there Leo.

Blessings,
Pat

Re: The Last Ride Of The Year

Very sorry to hear your news, Hope.

Fellas, is there anyone near Rhode Island that could maybe lend a helping hand with the brakes? I don't know what experience Hope's grandson has, but maybe a bit of a Barn team effort would help things along.
