Who all going to the National Meet at Dearborn
 

Times going fast trying to get ready to travel to the National meet. Today I half to repack the wheel Bearings on the car trailer, charge the battery in the trailer and make sure all the lights work. I did change the oil and fuel filter in the truck that pulls the car trailer. I will check the air pressure in the truck and trailer tires and the spare tires. Any more I am a bit forgetful about what has to be done. I look forward in going to the National seeing old friends. I clean the 40 yesterday but still not done cleaning the windows.

Darn, I was going to go but my property taxes went up $1600 this year and that has to be paid first before I go on any trips.

Hi Everyone. Redneck we're getting about ready to pull out. Taking our time, wandering the countryside, on the way northwest. I'm pretty excited about saying Hello to you and all my other EFV-8CA road-family! It seems like it's been too long since the NoVA meet.

Not to go off topic, but I see Shanksville is not far from my route, I think I'll be trying to go by the Flight 93 Memorial.

Then JM35 and I have a day scheduled in Cleveland to see the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum at the Western Reserve Historical Society. I see the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is within walking distance.

After the meet and the Motor Muster, we're heading over to Hickory Corners to see the Gilmore campus. Then it's on to Auburn for the V-8 Foundation and Museum! Dayton is one of my favorite places to see aviation history, and it's on I-70 heading back east.

I'm planning on being out on the road until late June. Fingers crossed that it all works out!

Yes Bills come first that a must. A great habit to get in to. I just paid some this morning also. Maybe next year you can make it in Auburn.

In NJ (one of the Highest Taxed States) we get to freeze ours when you get to a certain age. Look forward to the meet be Safe!

When I am driving long distance I get sleepy at times. A truck driver gave me candy bars Hershey with Almonds said when I get sleepy break off a piece and eat it and this will keep you awake. [It Work very well for me] I have done this for 50 years. I know some don't need this but may help one of you. Just my 2 cents God Bless

Yes, Hershey with Almonds work great, then you get thirsty and drink a lot then, well you old guys know what comes next, and that certainly keeps you awake.

We are leaving on Friday morning, driving my Rouge'50 Ford, going to Auburn to be ready for the sneak peek on Sunday and then on to Dearborn on Monday for an interesting week looking at all the great Fords and renewing friendships. Then, next month I will look at the bills that come in!

Carolyn and I are driving to Dearborn Friday to get set up for registration. She is driving the '51 Mercury. Redneck, I'm driving my '50 Crestliner, so you can laugh at it compared to yours. See everyone there!

Hi Everyone, I'm still on the road to Dearborn. Went through Warren, Ohio, where there was one of the TWO Packard Museums in Ohio, https://www.packardmuseum.org/ Shown is a '34, an '00 (second oldest Packard built car (not a Packard brand at that point, oldest is in The Henry Ford), and a '37, as well as the engine used in PT boats.

From there I went north to near Ashtabula, which is right on Lake Erie. I came across a '50's Diner and they were having a cruise-in. Nothing worth a photo though.

Going to be the trip of a lifetime for me! I will be travelling with "johnny" from the Barn on Tuesday next week. He is driving his 38 Merc convertable and asked me if I could drive his 46 Ford Woodie! After I caught my breath I said of course. Don't know what the parking situation is at the event or the host hotel but his wagon is maroon and has Ontario plates. I wood be wearing my distinctive FORBARN T-shirt but it shrunk in the washer. What about a t-shirt or a quality ballcap so we could recognize fellow barners. Vic has done it for the Cigar City Flathead people. You seeing this Aministrator Ryan?

I got the trailer ready repack the wheel bearing done last night. The 40 ready to load in the trailer.Will load the 40 Sat. I got to mow all the yards Sat. and weed-eat also. My Dog helps me she think this is her job.

We will be loading up tomorrow and heading out early Sunday morning. One stop in Kentucky and then on to Dearborn on Monday. Looking forward to seeing you all again.

We are on our way, unfortunately without our ’34 roadster (trailer problems). Spent all day yesterday in Auburn visiting the early V8 Ford and ACD museums. Am returning today for the Ford museum picnic. Here are some pictures that my wife took.

We are heading west to Dearborn tomorrow morning. Driving our 32 DeLuxe Coupe on it’s maiden voyage. Meeting up with Johnny and the two Bills near London, Ontario. Looking forward to meeting and making friends! Ted & Kathy

I don't know. In Minnesota, 90% of the drivers "camp out" in the fast lane on multi-lane roads.When I leave for Florida in the fall, I can tell when I hit Iowa, not by the signs or anything, but by the lack of slow cars in the fast lane. When I go through other states and run into a jam-up on the interstate in the middle of nowhere, the car causing it usually has Minnesota plates when I finally clear it.

I believe Michigan passed a law that the left lane on expressways is for passing only, and not cruising at a steady speed. Doesn't mean the left lane won't be loaded with slow pokes.
