Congratulations on a good time for your flathead dragster.
Picture is of Hombre a dragster that my son has just finishing restoring it , for himself. Peter Lodge had it timed on dragstrips in Australia many years ago.
It was demonstrated at Mere mere drag strip recently at nostalgia drags.

Re: Lawrie is Fast @ 9.56

I'm going to guess its a 1/8 mile track? Way impressive. Just got my flathead up to 68mph and I was happy with it and it only took 3 miles. :).

Under 10sec is a journey with any engine.

Incredible run. That is really outstanding Lawrie with an engine designed for 85hp.

When I did work with nhra I worked with some footage of a 3sec run. They'd take off and shut it down just as fast. As told the centrifugal clutches they use on the topfuel 10k hp engines, if they had a button that you could push at 200mph to engage the "drivetrain" to the engine they'd smoke the tires.
