Yip, Sarah is an award winner now.........but nothing like some of you guys. Haven't seen the plaque yet.......but was officially informed. I didn't stay for the awarding, too much mud at the Fair grounds.

Yes, you have a beautiful car and I also like the wheel color.

What is the story on the building. I assume it was a house since it has a chimney. Is it being restored?

I believe it has been repurposed, sure looks like it's on a slab to me.

Not repositioned, it's in it's original spot. Back in the 70s, the owner at that time incased in concrete the lowest foundation logs and preserving those logs and giving the whole structure a concrete floor where there was the original sod floor. It is being totally preserved and restored now. In some spots, you can see those ground logs sticking out from the concrete. The guy who owns it now has had it for three years, when he bought it, it couldn't be seen from the road about 40 feet away.

Thanks for al the congrats.....

I don't think she would have been given jack shite last year but with all the work Larry put into her last winter, I allowed it this year. I would have enjoyed the grading but at the time she was being looked over, I was cleaning up gas run-off.

I took a look at the Hamburg website.

I see that Sarah's picture made it to the home page.
I also see that you are the mayor. Did you mention that?

Cool!

I try not to. I was relegated to the position when the elected Mayor resigned. The village arseholes was driving his health down. Now an ex-Army Drill Sergeant is the Mayor, situation is under control!!!! ;)

Can't believe that this is your first.

A beautiful car needs a beautiful Cookie Pusher, Gid, Looker, Mugbug, Pigeon, Whiz Bang, frail...and if you're lucky you'll get a honey cooler.

Then you can cruise out to the clam bake down at the gin mill!

There is more paint and chrome on the radiator shell than on my whole car.
It is really good looking!

Wow! That is a beautiful sweet automobile that is far too upscale and decent for a clod like me.

What we need are "Jalopy Awards" for blistering and peeling paint knock around dented driver Model A Ford cars. Our late 31' deluxe tudor in the photo at left is a survivor situation. Looks as if paint was throw at the thing over the decades. The impression is of a 1940s period $15 grade Model A Ford being an escapee from a World War 2 junk yard scrap drive.

Ed, you and Sarah certainly deserve it and she looks great. Of course you have worked hard to do lots of little detail things from the luggage on the back, disguised fire extinguisher, and detailed the car well. I'll keep her running and you keep her looking good and happy. Don't worry about the gas tank paint, we'll take care of that this winter.

All the best!

Sarah is running with only half of her rack luggage, straps and the slide holders broke, they weren't new ya know on the rattan suitcase so the Gladstone bag straps have nothing to slide into to hold it down to the suitcase so it's back on eBay looking for something to replace her rack or come up with something different. AND I have all the time to search too!!!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Authenticity?

The coupe is a beautiful thing in nearly every way. I wonder if the car left the factory with the green wheels. Dual side mounts might have also been a retrofit feature. Are we still in the era when cars are what I call deluxified into a form that never was? I know that I did it with my 160A, plugging in cowl lamps and side mounts. In spite of the remains of correct pinstripe the wheels immediately went bright red. My 40B standard also took a beating with drilling for those cowl lights again. The large wings on my Taiwan Moto Meter were a nice touch. Too late I understood that my "improvements" were almost destructive. May have been different if my results were nearly as beautiful as the featured coupe. Good Luck: Fred A

It has been determined that she did get a restoration back in the late 70s. Engine was rebuilt then also. The side mounts were added or rather cut out and fitted, still original fenders. Rumble is original though. Cowl lights, don't know. Original paint color, nothing underneath chips that says different but as for the wheels, they are original wheels but if they had been sandblasted and then re-painted.....don't know. There is some filler, not much but filler is there. So, she has had a face lift....far better results for sure than some once beautiful women were before they went under the knife. She's my Babe..........but so is my dog. :D
;)

I agree with what you said about 'once beautiful women before they went under the knife' most of them look like circus clowns when they get done:eek: Pretty hideous.
