Pop's old truck runs again!! Video
 

It's been a labor of love, but I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to restore a piece of my family's history as well as America's. I thought i'd been here last week, but got busy on the farm. Today I finished wiring everything up, plumbed up the pump and ran a line to a gas jug. I bolted the distributor at TDC like the fellow I purchased it from instructed, and this is what I got! No adjustments have been made other than I idled it down in the second video linked here. Still got a lot to do, but gonna get everything fastened down and mounted properly, then start back on the body work and paint. Still got to do the big bed and get all that re wooded, but hope to have it ready for the labor day festivities we have locally! Gonna try to do a lot in the next few weeks, when april -june role around it will get hard finding time to work on it! Thanks for all the support! The old flathead is sounding great in your videos. Reminds me of the first startup on my 52 Merc fired up just a year ago.

Bet your still grinning. Next step get it rolling and take it for a solo drive. It's Okay if you pull over along the way and have a conversation with your "Pop". We all leave a little piece of ourselves behind for our loved ones who follow. May it be something as sweet as the gift "Pop" left for you.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I worked it some tonight after work and got the transmission relubed, hooked up the shaft, so it's ready for a little spin in the morning. I put in gear and made sure it shifted good in the shop, I let out on it a bit then would back it back up, each gear went in great, no stripping. Clutch feels great! I think she's ready for a spin! I"ll try to post a pic or two tomorrow!
