Re: 40 Ford Raffle Will they be advertising this in the next issue of Early v8?

Re: 40 Ford Raffle I bought a couple and may buy a few more. Probably the only way I'll ever have a chance to have a 1940 Ford! Great cause and reasonable odds, I like it!

Re: 40 Ford Raffle Is this the same '40 that was being raffled at Louisville (street rod nationals) and Bowling Green KY (Goodguys) last year?

Re: 40 Ford Raffle Hi Everyone, I bought ten tickets for the car, and the two books mentioned in the most recent Foundation newsletter. Then I gave some money to the general fund.
I say buy a bunch and buy them early. That way we'll find out the outcome sooner! |
Re: 40 Ford Raffle I just got the purchase notification. Only took a couple of days . looks like about 450 sold so far

Re: 40 Ford Raffle I called thinking I could pay over the phone via cc, but no dice. You need to mail a check

Take another look at this great 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe that has been donated to the Early Ford V8 Foundation to help raise funds for the planned Extension. It is one beautiful old Ford V8. |
Re: 40 Ford Raffle I'll have tickets to sell at the next RG 36 meeting in Feb.

Re: 40 Ford Raffle O.K guys here's some further info on the '40 business (opera) coupe. It's an older frame off restoration of a touring quality car. Converted to 12 volts (alternator) with all new wiring and fuse panel hidden in the left cowl panel. A strong and cool running flathead (new 94 carb) with 3.78 rear gears. Tube shocks at all four corners and sway bars front and back. The front is a little lower by using a reversed leaf eye spring. 15" wheels with big and little bias belted wide whites. The spare is a brand new WWW that still has the tag on the tire. Inside the seats have the original upholstery. The headliner/windlace and all panels (kick, door, quarter and back panels) are new from Lebaron -Bonney. Insulation was installed in the roof and quarters prior to the new panels being installed. There is also new carpet on the rear floor. All new window channels etc. There's a lengthy list of what has been done to the car and the list will be given to the winner.
If everyone buys two tickets the odds drop to one chance in 2000. If everyone buys 4 tickets the odds drop to one in 1000. You can't get those odds at Powerball or a casino. Everyone who buys a ticket is supporting the V-8 Foundation and will be helping to build the new building and help to preserve V-8 history in the Foundation Museum. |
Re: 40 Ford Raffle If lucky enough the 40 will be coming to Florida!

Re: 40 Ford Raffle I screwed up and sent the check without an SSA so I can get my ticket stubs. What should I do? Obviously send an envelope but will they be able to find the tickets etc? Or will they contact me if I win?
The last I ever won anything was the draft lottery in 1965. |
Re: 40 Ford Raffle Don't worry Joe. I already bought the winning ticket. (I wish.)

Re: 40 Ford Raffle Bad 60's joke
Did you hear about the Edsel raffle from 60's? The winner gets a chevy and all the loosers get Edsels. Sorry about sharing that..Don;t know what came over me. I never though the Edsel looked bad..But It became a joke early on. |

Here is a pictures of the 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe Raffle Car on temporary display at the Early Ford V8 Foundation Museum Auburn, Indiana, along with their other old Fords. The 1940 Ford is on the far left in the second picture. It will be a shame to see it missing from this great display of old Fords at the Museum. |
Re: 40 Ford Raffle I dont see a link for some pictures....

Strange color, almost looks like an army car!
Was that the original color? What is that color called, Olive? My wife wants to bid But hates the color. |
Re: 40 Ford Raffle Nice looking car.
I'll buy a ticket or two. Auburn is not too far from here--if I win, I will drive the car home. |
Re: 40 Ford Raffle Looooong ways to go before this collection matches Don Garlits lineup in Ocala, but it's a start !
